“It isn’t who you are; it’s what you are.”

Larry A. Moen
Writer, father, lecturer, farmer, builder, manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer, teacher, motorcyclist, photographer, music producer, steward of the land and Ordained Minister, Moen has a background rich in business success.
Born 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, he is a Vietnam Navy Seabee vet. After Vietnam, Moen assisted in building and running a golf course and country club. He went on to create a line of sports clothing that generated a lot of money, yet Moen was haunted by the knowledge that he was seeking something else, something money couldn’t buy.
On a quest to determine this need, he began to focus on self-improvement and his own spirituality. From 1988 to 1995 he wrote inspirational books, of which nine are published, wrote music for meditation, and traveled the world looking for his Spiritual path. Once he understood it was inside of him the entire time, he became motivated to steward land in Hawaii.
He moved onto his Captain Cook, Kona coffee and macadamia farm July 1996. As he continued his Spiritual studies the screenplay Freedom Of Spirit was manifested.
In keeping with the movie version of a self-sustaining community, Moen has embarked on a mission to build such a place.
